Counting with Compassion, Connecting with Purpose

Each January, Volunteers of America Southeast teams across Alabama and Georgia take part in the Point-in-Time Count—an effort that ensures people experiencing homelessness are seen, heard, and counted with dignity. That commitment continues through Project Homeless Connect, where VOA Southeast’s Eagle’s Landing program joins community partners and volunteers to connect individuals to essential services, free of charge. Together, these efforts move communities beyond numbers toward meaningful connection, compassion, and lasting change.

That’s a Wrap! Closing the Season With Gratitude

The success of the 2025 Season of Caring and 10 Caring Gifts initiative would not have been possible without the extraordinary partnerships that rallied our community around this mission. At the heart of this effort is our long-standing media partner, WALA Fox 10, whose on-air promotion, drop-off locations, and community storytelling helped amplify needs and inspire action across the Gulf Coast. We are especially grateful to our lead sponsors: A Community-Wide Effort In addition to our lead sponsors, this year’s toy collection was strengthened by a wide network of additional drop-off sites, organizations, schools, businesses, families, and individuals.
