A Tradition of Community Support
The holiday season is here, and with it comes the return of one of VOA Southeast’s longest-running community traditions.
From November 5 through December 14, VOA Southeast and WALA FOX10 will once again partner for 10 Caring Gifts, part of VOA Southeast’s annual Season of Caring.
Dating back to 1989, this longstanding partnership brings together local businesses, schools, churches and community members to make the holidays brighter for individuals and families throughout the Gulf Coast.
This year, there are three ways to support 10 Caring Gifts: donate food, give toys or make a monetary donation. The campaign will feature two community drives—one collecting food and the other collecting toys—along with opportunities to make financial contributions.
These donations will benefit children and youth, seniors, veterans, individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, people living with chronic mental illness, and families facing food insecurity or financial challenges. Through VOA Southeast’s programs and community partnerships, contributions will reach individuals and families throughout the Gulf Coast, including rural and underserved communities.

A Longstanding Community Tradition
For more than three decades, 10 Caring Gifts has connected WALA FOX10 viewers and community partners with VOA Southeast programs and the people they serve.
In 2025, the community donated 7,659 toys and 2,165 food items, with a combined value of more than $164,000. With support from more than 30 partner organizations and congregations, those donations reached 4,046 people across the region.
That support means groceries for families, toys for children and added help for people who may be stretched thin during the holiday season.
Season of Caring continues throughout November and December, with 10 Caring Gifts serving as one of the ways VOA Southeast and its community partners come together to support their neighbors.
Make a Financial Gift
Can’t make it to a drop-off location? A financial gift to VOA Southeast supports food, housing, care and other services throughout the year.
