Mobile, Ala. – Volunteers of America Southeast (VOA Southeast) is delighted to express our profound appreciation to Austal USA, a pillar of our community, for their exceptional commitment to supporting our mission. Austal USA’s 2023 Charity Golf Invitational, hosted at the Robert Trent Jones Magnolia Springs Golf Course, raised over $200,000 for local charities, with a generous contribution of $50,000 directed towards our veterans’ program, Eagle’s Landing.
Austal USA’s longstanding dedication to giving back to our community shines through this remarkable event. Their substantial donation will significantly contribute to our mission of assisting homeless veterans in our community. Eagle’s Landing focuses on the evidence-based “Housing First” approach, prioritizing permanent, safe, and affordable housing for veterans. Additionally, it offers wraparound services such as healthcare access, job placement, legal assistance, and life skills training.
“This generous contribution from Austal USA is a testament to their unwavering commitment to improving the lives of veterans and their families,” stated Deb Murph, Program Director for Eagle’s Landing at VOA Southeast. “With their support, we can continue to provide essential services and bridge the gaps that existing funding cannot cover.”
The funds received from Austal USA, as well as the support from the community, enable VOA Southeast to empower homeless veterans to work towards their long-term goals. These contributions make a tangible difference in the lives of veterans in need, and we are profoundly grateful for the generosity of individuals and businesses, including Austal USA, who stand with us in this noble cause.
