VOA Southeast is committed to providing safe, affordable housing to seniors across Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi. In this blog, we spotlight Gail Austin, a resident of Wiggins Senior Apartments in Mississippi, who shares how her life has improved since moving into a VOA Southeast-managed community. From modern amenities to prompt maintenance and a welcoming environment, Gail’s story illustrates how VOA Southeast ensures seniors live with dignity and comfort. With over 2,700 units of affordable housing, more than a third reserved for seniors, VOA Southeast continues to make housing accessible for low-income individuals, promoting community engagement and quality of life.

In March 2022, Lisa, a 53-year-old Georgia woman and veteran of the armed forces, and her son were on the verge of homelessness. With our help, Lisa was able to find a stable place to live within a few months and recover her and her husband’s military retirement benefits.

Volunteers of America Southeast is dedicated to providing safe, affordable housing for seniors just like Joyce. Our locations across the state offer low-income seniors a chance to live in a safe and supported community with other people their own age.
